WHAT IS

PILATES?

Developed by Joseph Pilates, Pilates is made up of very low to no-impact movements designed to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness. Pilates can be done by someone at any fitness level and is easily modified for people who have limited movement. Pilates promotes the feeling of mental and physical well-being and also develops inner physical awareness. According to Joseph Pilates, “You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions and have a completely new body in 30 sessions.”

PROFILE_PICS_SHEENA.png

Sheena began doing Pilates over a decade ago. After giving birth to her second child, Pilates played a key role in helping a new mom of two recover and in keeping her balanced and together. The more she learned about Pilates, the more she fell in love with it. After living through the benefits of Pilates, Sheena decided to take the leap to become an certified instructor. She wanted to share her love for Pilates along with the long list of benefits with other people. Sheena is a Stott certified instructor on all apparatus which includes Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrels.

When she is not in the studio, she is spending time with her family and friends. Sheena’s favorite things to do are lay in the sun (with sunblock of course) and look at art.
